Flatra vs ADDA: Society App Comparison for Small Apartments

ADDA is one of India's oldest society platforms. Flatra is one of its newest, built only for small societies. Here is how they differ.

ADDA — long known as ApartmentADDA — is one of India's most established apartment management platforms, combining society accounting (ADDA ERP) with gate security (ADDA GateKeeper), and says it serves more than 25,000 societies. Flatra is a newer apartment maintenance app from Hyderabad, built only for societies of 10–100 flats. They overlap on billing and communication, and differ on almost everything around it.

The honest trade-off

ADDA gives a committee more accounting machinery than Flatra does. That is an advantage for a 400-flat community with an auditor, and overhead for a 28-flat building where the secretary has a day job. Flatra keeps the books to what a small association actually uses: what was billed, what was collected, what was spent (with the receipt), and what the association holds today — month by month, from the opening balance.

Frequently asked questions

Is Flatra an alternative to ADDA?

For small societies, yes on the billing and communication side: maintenance bills, water-meter billing, payment tracking, expenses, complaints and announcements. Flatra does not offer ADDA's general-ledger accounting or its GateKeeper security product.

Which is cheaper, Flatra or ADDA?

Flatra is free for the society and residents, with no per-flat charge. ADDA is sold in tiered paid plans; check current pricing with ADDA.

Is ADDA too much for a small apartment?

It depends on the committee. If nobody needs a general ledger or gate security, a simpler maintenance app is quicker to run. If the association is audited formally, ADDA's accounting depth is useful.

Can we move from ADDA or Excel to Flatra?

Yes. Create the society in the app, add flats and owners, enter the association's current balance and each flat's outstanding dues as opening adjustments, then generate the next month.
