MyGate and Flatra are both society apps, but they start from opposite ends. MyGate grew out of gate security for large gated communities and expanded into a full community platform. Flatra starts from the monthly maintenance bill of a small apartment. Which one fits depends almost entirely on the size and shape of your society.

The secretary enters the month's expenses (or a fixed amount), records water readings, and taps Generate; a preview shows every flat's bill before it is confirmed. As payments arrive, cash or UPI is recorded against each flat — or the resident submits a UPI screenshot and the secretary approves it. Unpaid balances and advances carry to the next bill as a visible line. Residents see their dues, all previous bills and receipts, and the society's expenses with receipt photos. At month-end a statement PDF goes into the WhatsApp group.
Around that core: complaints with photos, announcements, polls with one vote per flat, meetings with minutes, festival events with donations, and AMC reminders. More in the complete guide.
Flatra does not manage the gate, visitors, deliveries, domestic staff or amenity bookings, and it has no native iPhone app yet — iPhone users use it in the browser at app.flatra.in. If those are essential to your community, MyGate or another gate-security platform is the better fit, and we would rather you chose well than chose us.

Create your society in the app in about 5 minutes — flats, bills, generate the month. Free for the society and every resident.
Get it on Google Play Visit flatra.inOnly for the billing and communication side. Flatra handles maintenance bills, water-meter billing, payments, expenses, complaints and announcements for small societies. It does not provide MyGate's gate-security, visitor or amenity-booking features.
If the building has no manned gate workflow and the need is maintenance billing and transparent accounts, Flatra is sized for it and is free. If visitor approvals at the gate are the priority, MyGate is built for that.
Flatra is free for the society and residents — maintenance billing, water billing, payments, expenses and communication — with no per-flat charge. MyGate's pricing is customised by community size and modules; software directories also list a free version.
Yes. Some communities use a gate-security app at the gate and keep maintenance billing separate. Flatra does not depend on any other system.
